Harvest Rochester is part of an exciting and fast growing network of like-minded churches throughout the world, known as Harvest Bible Fellowship.

Harvest Bible Fellowship is the church-planting arm of Harvest Bible Chapel. Founded by James MacDonald, Harvest Bible Chapel began in 1988 with eighteen people from the northwest suburbs of Chicago dedicated to seeing God work in people’s lives.

Just over ten years later, the elders felt God was leading Harvest Bible Chapel to plant churches. Though reluctant to send people away, they responded in faith to Proverbs 11:24: “One gives freely, yet grows all the richer.”

The goal was to plant ten churches in ten years. In 2000, Harvest sent out three-hundred people and two pastors. The first church planted was in Naperville, Illinois. Our pastor, Steve Deedrick, eventually worked at this church plant for nearly four years.

Now there are over 122 Harvest churches all committed to the same mission and values. The Harvest DNA includes passionately pursuing the fulfillment of Jesus Christ’s promise to build His church. Even churches who were planted are now planting new churches. As the fourth church planted by Harvest Naperville, Harvest Rochester continues the legacy of faithfulness.

Steve Deedrick was born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota. Attending Harvest Bible Chapel changed his life by introducing him to a God he didn’t know. Steve feels compelled to share what he has experienced with searching people in Rochester.
