September 2017 Update

This summer has been incredibly fruitful in the life of Harvest Bible Chapel Rochester. As the elders, our desire is always first and foremost to see God’s people glorify Him through the ministry of this church. The opportunities we have had to engage the community, such as One Body Weekend, Vertical Kids Week, and Small Group service projects, were well attended and the catalyst to church growth. We are incredibly thankful to all the volunteers who give their time, talent, and treasure to make these events and our weekend services happen. God is building His church and He is using you to do it!

A building team has been formed to search for our future church home. We are grateful for the talents that are on this team and appreciate their attention focused on this matter. They are exploring if an interim step is warranted to a larger facility before we reach our church home. The people on this team led by Mike Reps are: John Carlson, Cheryl Enderlein, Duane Jones, Kendall Koens, and Cory Penz. Please pray for them that they will have wisdom and guidance in this pursuit.

This summer has been a time of transition within the fellowship. Pastor James MacDonald stepped down from leadership of Harvest Bible Fellowship. With this change, there is a new organization forming which is called the Great Commission Collective. Steve Deedrick will be attending a meeting in Texas on September 25 about the new Collective. We are awaiting more information about the restructuring information from this meeting.

As we enter this new year of ministry, there is a desire for revival. We need it individually, corporately as a church, in our community and beyond. In the three-week series leading up to September, the emphasis was: “Get alone – For God Alone – and seek Him.”

In order for change to occur we are going to have to individually increase our intensity in prayer and seek first the Kingdom of God.

  • Harvest Madison launches September 24th, 2017. We are asking small groups to “Go” to Madison this fall to attend one of their services. Pastor Dave Jacobson has hired a worship leader, which is an answer to prayer. Pray for a successful transition from the launch team to weekly High Impact services and quality disciples.

  • Pray for God’s provision of a home for Harvest for His people to gather and continue to reflect His glory in more ways than we can imagine. Pray for the building team as they continue to seek and discern God’s will for us in the form of a building.
